Snow White is among the most famous fairy tales today, thanks in part to the superb 1937 animated film by Walt Disney. The story, which is of German origin, was first written down by the famous Brothers Grimm in 1812 and revised to its final form in 1854. In addition to being included in the book Grimm’s Fairy Tales, Snow White has also been the subject of several films, visual novels, animations, and theatrical presentations.
Snow White follows the story of a princess who draws the ire of the queen — her stepmother — simply by being more beautiful. Armed with the dark arts, the queen attempts many times to get rid of Snow White and finally emerges as the fairest woman in all the land. Unbeknownst to the queen, Snow White encounters friendly dwarfs in the woods and lives with them in the hopes that the distance between her and the jealous queen is enough to keep her out of harm’s way.
