Mary Poppins focuses on the Banks Family: Jane and Michael, the two naughty children who keep sending away one nanny after another, and their parents, Winifred and George, who are also having problems of their own. After the childrens last nanny walks out the door, Mary Poppins comes in and takes charge of the Banks kids with her magic and music.
Mary Poppins was based on two sources: a similarly titled series of books by P.L. Travers and the 1964 Disney film. A Broadway production of the musical opened in 2006 and later earned five Tony Award nominations, including Best Scenic Design, which it won.
