Time to get wicked!
Years after the ending of Beauty and the Beast, Belle and Beast have founded a thriving kingdom and banished all the villains to the Isle of the Lost. There, they can’t do any harm as they do not have any magic available.
Now their 20-year-old son, Ben, announces that as his first effort as future king, he will concede four children of the island the opportunity to live in the Kingdom and turn their life around. Although his parents advise him otherwise, he selects Mal, Maleficent’s daughter; Jay, Jafar’s son; Carlos, Cruella de Vil’s son; and Evie, the Evil Queen’s daughter.
After learning of this, Maleficent crafts a plan to free them, and requests from the kids to steal the Fairy Godmother’s magic wand to release the spell that they put around the Island. As they arrive, they meet Ben and his alleged girlfriend Audrey, Aurora’s daughter. They also meet the Fairy Godmother, who is the principal, and after using the tools their parents gave them to try and steal the wand, they realize is guarded by a protection spell. With no other way out, they decide to steal the wand on the day of Ben’s coronation, which the Fairy Godmother uses as part of the ceremony.
In the meantime, they mingle with the students, become a part of the school’s events, and befriend some of the students. Mal learns that Audrey, Ben’s alleged girlfriend, is allowed to sit next to him during his coronation, so to increase their chances of stealing the wand, she crafts a spell that has him fall madly in love with her, much to everyone’s surprise.
She goes on a date with him, where she becomes conflicted between Ben’s affection and pleasing her mother. After a few confrontations with their peers and their parents, the four become excluded and rejected by the friendships they have made so far.
Mal then decides to free Ben from the spell, who reveals he hasn’t been under the spell for some time and his feelings for her are genuine. As Ben’s coronation takes place, a friend of theirs takes the magic wand to improve her appearance, damaging the barrier’s stability along the way. Mal then has to face the decision of following her mother’s plans, but encouraged by Ben to make her path, she realizes all four of them have found happiness in their new life and decides to go against their parent’s wishes.
Nonetheless, Maleficent manages to escape the island and arrives at the party, where she freezes everyone except the four protagonists. After defying her, Maleficent turns into a massive dragon, but using a counterspell, the four can reduce her to a lizard. They then return the Fairy Godmother her wand and she unfreezes everyone. During the final celebration, the students rejoice in the retellings of their adventure, while Mal’s eyes turn green just like her mother’s.
