Let’s get mysterious with the classic tale Clue!

What Is Clue About?

In 1954, six strangers are invited to a remote mansion in New England, where they are greeted by Wadsworth, the butler, and Yvette, the maid. To protect their identities, each guest is given a pseudonym: Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Mrs. Peacock, Mr. Green, Professor Plum, and Miss Scarlet.

Throughout the evening, they become aware that they all have connections to the government. At dinner, they meet Mr. Boddy, who has been blackmailing all of them. Wadsworth pretends to turn him in to the police, but Mr Boddy threatens to reveal all of their secrets. He then hands all of the guests a weapon: a rope, a lead pipe, a revolver, a candlestick, a wrench, and a dagger, and advises them to kill Wadsworth before he can call the cops. A few minutes later, Mr. Boddy is found dead on the floor.

As they try to investigate Mr. Boddy’s death, Wadsworth opens up about his indenture with Boddy. The group first suspects the cook, but they find her stabbed to death in the kitchen. In the mayhem, someone discovers Boddy was still alive, before he’s brutally killed with a candlestick. Wadsworth decides to lock all the weapons in a cupboard. However, a motorist arrives, and Wadsworth throws him in the lounge before disposing of the key to the cupboard.

The group separates to investigate the mansion and discover that the blackmail evidence has been burned. In the meantime, someone has used the key to open the cupboard and used the wrench to kill the motorist. Colonel Mustang and Scarlet end up locked in the longe with the motorist’s corpse before being found by Yvette.

A cop investigating the motorist’s stranded car arrives at the mansion to use the phone. The mansion receives a call from the FBI, and Wadsworth decides to take it. The group attempts to hide the murderers from the police. Once they can get rid of the cop and resume their investigation, the lights in the mansion are cut off, and Yvette, the cop, and a singing telegram girl are found murdered by the rope, pide, and revolver, respectively.

Wadsworth restores the power and gathers the group to explain what he has deduced. He tells everyone that all five victims are informants connected to each of the guests. In one recreation of the events, Yvette murdered the cook and Buddy under Scarlet’s orders, who wanted to sell the guests’ secrets. Scarlett tries to kill Wadsworth, who disarms her just as law enforcement breaks into the house. Wadsworth reveals he is an undercover FBI agent and almost kills Mustard, missing him just by a hair.

In an alternate ending, Peacock killed everyone in an attempt to avoid having her secrets exposed. She holds everyone at gunpoint and tries to escape. Wadsworth reveals he is an undercover FBI agent and arrests Peacock before the mansion is raided by law enforcement.

The real ending reveals that everyone but Green killed someone. Peacock killed the cook, Plum killed Boddy, Mustard killed the motorist, Scarlet murdered the cop, White murdered Yvette, and Wadsworthkilled the singing lady. Wadsworth reveals he’s the real Boddy, and the person Plum killed was actually the butler. Green draws his own gun and reveals he is the undercover FBI agent sent to investigate Boddy, before arresting everyone for the crimes they committed during the night.
