Top 7 Memorable Backdrops from Aladdin

Get ready to fly into new adventures!

Aladdin is a young man born into poverty, but his quick-wittedness and happy-go-lucky attitude have kept him in high places. Even though he makes his living as a thief, his moral code is far steeper than most expect. Aladdin rummages the city of Agrabah along with his pet Abu, a small monkey.

On the other side of the city, Jasmine, the sultan’s daughter and princess of Agrabah, runs away from the castle in search of excitement. She encounters Aladdin and the two bond over the wild nature of their hearts. However, their meeting is cut short when Rafar, the royal vizier, finds them and takes Aladdin into custody.

After being captured, Aladdin has no choice but to help Rafar retrieve a magical lamp in the Cave of Wonders. Inside, Aladdin manages to get a hold of a magical flying carpet, while his pet, Abu, gets a little more ambitious and grabs luxurious jewels, triggering the cave. As the cave collapses, Aladdin gets his hands on the lamp.

Oblivious to its true power, Aladdin rubs the lamp, only to be surprised as he encounters the Genie, who grants the young man three wishes. Seeking to impress Jasmine, his first wish is to become a wealthy prince. Then, he promises to the Genie to use his last wish to free him from being a slave to the lamp and those who encounter it.

Aladdin then takes the name Prince Ali and goes into the city hoping to impress Jasmine, who finally realizes he’s the same boy she first met in the market. Their bonding comes to a halt when Jafar, who hopes to marry Jasmine to become Sultan himself, has his guards get rid of Aladdin, which forces him to use his second wish to get himself to safety. After he returns to the castle, Jafar steals the lamp and uses his first two wishes to become Sultan and a powerful warlock.

Seeing he cannot be defeated by strength, Aladdin uses his intellect and taunts Jafar into believing he is not as powerful as the Genie, getting him to use his last wish to turn himself into a genie. The Genie grants him his desire, only to be burdened with servitude and be absorbed by a lamp. After saving the say, Aladdin keeps his promise and frees the Genie, who immediately heads to see the world. In the meantime, Princess Jasmine and Aladdin prepare to fulfill their own love story.
