June has been the month for exhibitions, concerts and recital shows… all featuring Grosh tailored backdrops. We started the month preparing for the E3 Expo, an exhibition for gaming connoiseurs and other related entertainment specialists. Together with Stungun Productions, we produced a textured scrim advertising Lord of the Rings: War of the North, set to release this summer. This is a new game for XBox 360 users, published by Warner Bros.
“It was a lot of fun teaming up with Tamlyn Wright and Gloria Lamb on this project! In the end this display was the standout of the bunch,” says Peter Lime, Scenic Assistant at Grosh.
Our Customs department has been kept busy busy busy, collaborating with Accurate Staging to kick out a series of backdrops for performing artists Megadeth, Slipknot, Coheed and Cambria, (just to name a few…) and Slayer, all touring this year.
In rentals, we have also been busy shipping backdrops to dance studios across the states. Many of our clients close their studios for the summer, consummating in a dance recital in June to showcase the talents of their students. This month, Elizabeth Parsons School of Dance celebrated her 30th Anniversary using our Happy Anniversary drop (ES7453) as the opening number.
Be sure to also catch a glimpse of some of Grosh drapery in upcoming episodes of Bravo’s Top Chef and HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. Most people work hard for the weekend, we work hard for the shows.
