This magical story takes place during a snowy Christmas. Clara, a curious young girl, and her family are more than delighted to receive another Christmas when her godfather, Droseelmeyer, brings over gifts for all the children, including a nutcracker doll, which he gifts to Clara. She immediately develops a liking for the doll. Her brother, however, ends up breaking it, but thankfully, her godfather puts it back together.
After everyone has gone to bed, Clara returns to the living room to check on the dolls. However, as the clock strikes midnight, the mice start filling the room, the Christmas tree grows in size, and the Nutcracker grows into life-size. Clara is caught in the crossfire of a battle between the mice, led by the Mouse King, and the gingerbread men and tin soldiers, led by the Nutcracker.
After the Mouse King attempts to attack the Nutcracker, Cara throws her slipper at him, stopping him from advancing and giving the Nutcracker a chance to put an end to his life. The Mouse King is defeated, and the Nutcracker transforms into a human prince, leading Clara to his kingdom.
The prince introduces Clara to the Kingdom of the Sweets, ruled by the Sugar Plum Fairy during the prince’s absence. A massive party is thrown in honor of Clara saving him and helping him defeat the Mouse King. Several dances are performed, and candy from all over the world is brought over.
When the final Waltz ensues, the prince brings Clara over, bows to her, and kisses her goodbye. She is led to a sled that takes off as they wave bye to each other.
The Parlor
