The Drive in Movie Theater backdrop from Grosh Rentals offers you a slice of history. On June 6, 1933 Richard Hollingshead opened the first theater for the auto-bound in Camden, N.J. People paid 25 cents per car as well as per person to see the British comedy Wives Beware under the stars. The concept of showing movies outdoors wasn't novel; people often watched silent films on screens set up at beaches or other places boasting an abundance of sky. However, it took an auto-parts salesman such as Hollingshead to see the genius in giving a car-loving society one more activity they could do in their vehicles. This experience lives on today and Grosh Backdrops displays the iconic event with our Drive in Movie Theater Backdrop. Our theatrical Drive in Movie Theater backdrop displays the big screen before the movie begins. Behind the screen you see the bold lettering of the theater. In the background you see the dark blue and black clear sky with the moon hanging in the sky. In front of the screen you see three cars dated back to the 50's just waiting for the movie to begin.
Our theatrical backdrop is ideal for shows that take place in the 50's such as Grease or for any movie loving themed events.
