This morning in Los Angeles, the soft morning light is quickly rising over the city skylineand will slowly climb over until it reaches a forecasted 90 degrees. Just up north in San Francisco, a friend of mine is commuting to work today in a heavy windbreaker through a foggy 62 degrees. In a few weeks, I too, maybe sporting a heavier jacket due to one simple fact; the seasons change. One industry where this certainly is self-evident is the fashion industry.
People use fashion as a way to express themselves, to accentuate and draw attention to their best attributes and sometimes, perhaps, to hide some flaws. Fashion is a way people can showcase their individuality through a variety of designs, colors, textures and accessories. Conceivably this is why many in the fashion industry choose to accessorize their photo shoots, fashion and runway shows and showrooms with Grosh Backdrops and Drapery.
Last year, a San Francisco based high-end fashion clothing company was about to premier their upcoming spring line so they called Grosh for assistance and ideas. Grosh backdrops, theatrical legs and drapery panels were used to set a distinct seasonal themeat their private showroom where buyers from all over the world came to catch a sneak preview of what is to come. The clothing company wanted to create a backdrop of a changing of seasons with the emphasis on spring colors. To achieve this look they chose to use our Cherry Blossom Border hung above several racks of clothing displays. Our customer also wanted to give an impression that the upcoming spring season is something that is anticipated and presented through clothes. To present this idea of “revealing” spring, they hung a Burgundy Austrian Puff which gave it an almost vaudeville theatrical feeling like a show or main attraction of their new line. The clothing set among the creative design of backdrops and drapery supported the success of this show. Our team hopes to be a part of this creative field again very soon.
