Relive the classic tale full of Disney’s most beloved characters!
It tells the tale of a Baker and his Wife, who are cursed by a witch and can’t have children as a result. The Witch finds the Baker’s father stealing some magic beans from her and casts a curse upon his family as retribution. However, as soon as the Witch’s mother finds out about her growing those beans, she also curses her daughter with aging and ugliness.
The Witch agrees to lift the curse from the Baker’s family if they find the items to make a potion: a cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn, and slippers as pure as gold.
The Baker and his Wife embark on a journey to find the ingredients for the Witch’s potion and cure her current condition. First, they meet Jack, who is selling his cow, Milky-White. In exchange for the cow, the Baker gives Jack the magical beans. Then, they go after the Red-Riding Hood red cape, who they met one day after she passed by the bakery. For the yellow hair, they locate Rapunzel in the middle of the woods, and for the golden slippers, the Baker and his Wife acquire Cinderella’s shoes, which they accidentally pump into her while she’s leaving the ball.
After several missteps and adventures, the Baker and his Wife manage to get all the items the Witch demands. The Witch makes the potion which returns her youth and beauty, and in exchange, she lifts the curse from the Baker’s family so they can have children. Other characters also receive their happy endings, as Cinderella marries the Prince, Rapunzel is rescued from the tower and marries her savior, and Jack’s mom grows a giant sprout from the beans, which allows Jack to steal from the Giants in the sky and provide for his family. Red Riding Hood and her grandmother are also rescued from the Big Bad Wolf.
However, as things are looking up, they also begin to crumble. The Baker’s Wife starts feeling attracted to the Prince, the Baker starts to doubt his competence as a father, Cinderella becomes more than disenchanted with her prince, and the Witch learns that she no longer has any powers after recovering her youth and beauty. On the other hand, another beanstalk has grown from the seeds Jack’s mother planted, leading to the giants climbing down demanding Jack’s life in retribution for the giant he killed while stealing from them.
The unlikely heroes of the tale attempt to find Jack and protect him from the giants, but Red Riding Hood’s mother, grandmother, and Jack’s mother, are killed in the process. The Baker’s Wife also dies after attempting an affair with the Prince. Jack, Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, and the Baker are the only ones left with no choice but to blame each other for the unfortunate events.
The Witch appears again and curses the characters for being unable to take responsibility for their actions. She casts the beans away and begs her mother to punish her again before she melts into a pit of tar. The remaining heroes resolve that they need to move forward with a plan or perish.
As they decide killing the pursuing giant is the only choice, they lure the giant into stepping into the pit of tar by making her trip over a tree. After getting rid of the giant, they cut the beanstalk and move on with their lives. The Baker returns to his baby, along with Cinderella who has now left the Prince, and wants to help the Baker take care of Jack and Red Riding Hood.
