Believing that his fathers mental malady is caused by the evil in his fathers soul, Dr. Henry Jekyll attempts to discover a cure by separating evil from good in peoples personalities. In doing so, he produces a formula that unleashes the pure evil within him, creating an alternate personality that calls himself Mr. Edward Hyde. He proceeds to murder the members of the Board of Governors of St. Jude Hospital, who all previously refused to have Jekyll test the formula on his sick father. The distraught doctor then goes on a race against time to find a cure that would restrain the monster that he has released inside of him, lest it takes over him completely and endanger the love of his life, Emma.
